Former PDP spokesperson quits party

Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has announced his resignation from the party.

Ologbondiyan confirmed his exit in a letter dated December 5, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Okekoko Ward 09 in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State. The letter, which he shared on his X page today, expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership for the opportunities he received during his years of service.

“Let me start by thanking you as well as other levels of leadership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party as well as our fatherland, Nigeria,” he wrote.

He explained that after a personal review of his involvement in the party, he decided it was time to move on.

“It is now imperative to bring your attention to the fact that I have reviewed my participation in the PDP and came to the conclusion that, for personal reasons, I need to make my exit,” he stated. “I have therefore come to a decision to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth.”

Ologbondiyan, a former journalist, previously served as Director of Media and Publicity for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in 2019. He was also an aide to former Senate President David Mark, now the chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
