Yahaya Bello marries fourth wife amid ongoing EFCC legal battle

Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has taken a fourth wife amid his ongoing legal tussle with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The private wedding ceremony was held over the weekend in Abuja and attended by close friends and family.
The new bride, identified as Hiqma, was welcomed into the family by Bello’s third wife, Hafiza, who confirmed the union via a heartfelt Instagram post.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin,” she wrote.
Yahaya Bello, who governed Kogi State from 2016 to 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC), is already married to Amina Oyiza Bello, Rashida Bello, and Hafiza Bello.
The marriage comes at a time when the former governor is battling charges of alleged N80.2 billion money laundering filed by the EFCC. Bello has denied wrongdoing, but the case continues to attract national attention.
Despite the controversy surrounding his legal challenges, the wedding was carried out discreetly, with no political fanfare or official statement from the former governor.
His marriage to Hiqma adds another layer to his personal life, even as he continues to navigate intense scrutiny from anti-corruption agencies.
