Wike’s media aide Lere, Arise TV’s Rufai in online clash

A heated exchange erupted on Facebook on Saturday between Lere Olayinka, media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and Arise TV talk show host Rufai Oseni over alleged land allocations in Abuja.

The dispute began when Oseni posted a document on his Facebook page suggesting that Wike’s children and family members had received land allocations.

He challenged Wike’s spokesperson to respond, writing: “Since the revelation of the land allocation story by the FCT minister, his media aide has been quiet. I challenge his media handlers to come react to the story. I am ready to give them a platform.”

Olayinka quickly fired back, dismissing the journalist and questioning the platform Oseni offered: “I don’t react to someone who should be in Arise News, producing documentaries on animals. Besides, which platform will you give me? Are you the owner of Arise News? Rest.”

Oseni insisted that the allegations be addressed, stating, “I thought you would kindly speak to the allegations rather than deflect. The world is watching. React to these allegations and give a position on the issues.”

Olayinka responded again, doubling down: “I don’t respond to those who should be in the zoo, feeding animals abeg.”

The social media clash has drawn attention to both the alleged land allocations and the fiery exchange between the media aide and the journalist.
