Why Chelsea blocked Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich

Chelsea have stopped striker Nicolas Jackson from joining Bayern Munich on loan after their forward Liam Delap suffered an injury that could keep him out for six to eight weeks.

Delap was injured during Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

With Delap sidelined, the Blues now want Jackson to remain at the club to strengthen their attacking options.

According to football transfer expert David Ornstein, Chelsea informed Bayern Munich that the Senegalese striker will no longer be allowed to leave, despite a £13 million loan deal that had already been agreed.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca admitted that Delap’s injury leaves the club short of strikers and highlighted the need for a quick solution to the problem.
