WAFCON 2024 final: Super Falcons’ starting XI against Morocco released

The Super Falcons’ starting lineup for the much-anticipated final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) against hosts Morocco has been officially released.

Head coach Justine Pwanidi Madugu has entrusted Chiamaka Nnadozie to guard the goalpost in tonight’s showdown at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, scheduled for 9 p.m.

In defence, Madugu has named Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin, and Ashleigh Plumptre, while the midfield will be marshaled by Deborah Abiodun, Halimatu Ayinde, and Folashade Florence Ijamilusi.

The attacking trio includes Rasheedat Ajibade, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Esther Okoronkwo.

Nigeria advanced to the final after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over South Africa in the semi-final, while Morocco edged Ghana in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

Nigeria’s Starting XI vs Morocco:

GK: Chiamaka Nnadozie

DEF: Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin, Ashleigh Plumptre

MID: Deborah Abiodun, Halimatu Ayinde, Folashade Florence Ijamilusi

FWD: Rasheedat Ajibade, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Esther Okoronkwo
