The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has urged all candidates who sat for the 2025 school-based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to revisit its official portal and verify their results following recent corrections.

In a tweet on Friday, WAEC announced, “The result portal is up again, candidates can now access, check and recheck their results for the WASSCE (SC), 2025. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the mishap and appreciate your understanding and support. Thank you.”

Earlier this week, WAEC admitted to errors in the initial release of the Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) results.

The Council corrected the figures, revealing that 1,239,884 candidates — representing 62.9% of the 1,969,313 candidates who sat for the exam — have now obtained credit passes in five subjects or more, including English Language and Mathematics.

This correction marks a significant increase from the original figure of 754,545 candidates, or 38.32%, initially reported to have credit passes in the required subjects.
