Turkish league: Victor Osimhen scores again as Galatasaray beat Rizespor

Victor Osimhen continued his fine scoring form as he found the net for Galatasaray in their 3-1 home win against Rizespor in Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig clash. Rizespor featured Nigerian midfielder Ibrahim Olawoyin.

Osimhen, who opened his goals account in his second spell with Galatasaray during last Sunday’s 4-0 win at Kayserispor, has now scored in back-to-back league fixtures.

In the match against Rizespor, Osimhen scored in the 65th minute to make it 2-0 for the Turkish league champions.

The scoring was opened by former Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez, while Mauro Icardi sealed the 3-1 victory in stoppage time. Osimhen was substituted in the 90th minute after an impressive performance.

Galatasaray remain unbeaten in the league with four wins from four matches, topping the table, while Rizespor sit 16th with just one point from three games.

Osimhen’s form is likely to boost the Super Eagles ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa next month.

The 2023 African Player of the Year previously scored on matchdays five and six against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, helping Nigeria secure a 2-0 win in Rwanda and a 1-1 draw in Uyo.
