Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement in principle to sign Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk in a deal worth €27 million, REPUBLICAN NIGERIA reports.

The 23-year-old is expected to undergo his medical on Saturday.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Friday night, revealing that Wolves had sealed the deal with Genk and booked the medical tests ahead of the official announcement.

Arokodare, who was also a target for AC Milan, emerged as one of Europe’s sought-after young forwards after a prolific campaign last season. He finished as top scorer in the Belgian Pro League with 23 goals, while also providing seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

His transfer saga had limited his involvement this season, with the forward reduced to substitute appearances in just five games. Genk’s sporting director, Dimitri De Condé, had already hinted strongly at his departure, describing it as “99 per cent certain” and stressing that the striker was “ready to take the next step.”

The move represents a major attacking reinforcement for Wolves, who are keen to sharpen their frontline in the Premier League this season.
