Tinubu moves Surveyor-General’s office to presidency to fast-track infrastructure projects
President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate transfer of the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGoF) to the Presidency.
The decision, according to Tinubu, is a strategic step aimed at expediting the delivery of key national infrastructure projects.
The directive was disclosed during the 150th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) held at the State House in Abuja. President Tinubu emphasized that the move is necessary to improve geospatial coordination, eliminate bureaucratic delays, and ensure timely completion of major federal projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway.
In a statement released by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), Tinubu said that transferring OSGoF to the Presidency would enable tighter oversight and faster implementation of developmental priorities.
“We must break away from bottlenecks. Our legacy projects are too important to be slowed down. We’re taking direct control to ensure results,” President Tinubu stated.
The move is widely seen as part of the administration’s broader push to deliver on its infrastructure agenda without bureaucratic hindrances.
