Tinubu appoints new Controller-General of Federal Fire Service

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), and signed by its Secretary, Abdulmalik Jibrin.

According to the statement, the appointment follows the scheduled retirement of the incumbent Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is set to bow out of service on August 11, 2025, after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

DCG Olumode Adeyemi, who previously served in the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, rose through the ranks to his current position in the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.

He is described as a seasoned officer with extensive experience and has successfully completed all mandatory in-service trainings and command courses, both locally and internationally.

Adeyemi is also a member or fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The Board expressed its appreciation to the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Olola, for his outstanding service and numerous contributions to the growth and modernization of the Federal Fire Service.
