Tennis legend Novak Djokovic buys stake in French club Le Mans

World tennis champion Novak Djokovic has become a part-owner of French football club Le Mans FC, joining forces with former Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen in an ambitious new venture, republican.com.ng reports.

Djokovic’s involvement marks a growing trend of sports stars investing in football. The Serbian icon, who has won a record 24 Grand Slam titles, is now backing Le Mans as the club seeks a return to top-tier French football.

Le Mans, once a Ligue 1 side, fell into crisis in 2011 after financial irregularities led to their liquidation. Relegated to the sixth tier, the club has since battled its way back and was recently promoted from the third division.
