Tanker accident in Ibadan: One injured as 50,000-litre AGO tanker overturns

A motor apprentice has been hospitalised following a tanker accident in Ibadan, Oyo State. The identity of the victim has yet to be disclosed.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when a tanker transporting 50,000 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) lost control and overturned at the Jin-Jofes Petroleum Station, located along Iwo Road.

According to eyewitnesses, both the driver and the apprentice were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. While no fatalities were recorded, the apprentice sustained injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Confirming the incident, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof, noted that emergency responders were on the scene to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
