Taiwo Awoniyi returns to full training at Nottingham Forest after injury setback
Nigeria international Taiwo Awoniyi has resumed full training with Nottingham Forest after recovering from an abdominal injury that sidelined him for the final weeks of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
The 27-year-old striker missed Forest’s last two league matches following the injury, which required two separate surgical procedures. He was, however, present at the City Ground to watch the team’s final game of the season against Chelsea.
Awoniyi is now back in training as he continues his rehabilitation, with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo expected to ease him back into competitive action to prevent any setback.
During the 2024/25 campaign, Awoniyi featured in 26 league matches for Forest, registering one goal.
