Sanku: Alfas gave him soaps – Late skitmaker’s mother speaks on money ritual claims

The mother of late skit maker, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Sanku Comedy, has dismissed speculations linking her son’s death to money rituals.

REPUBLICAN NIGERIA earlier reported that the fast-rising comedian lost his life on Monday in a fatal car crash along the Oyo–Ogbomoso expressway in Ibadan.

His death quickly sparked rumours on social media alleging that he had been involved in fetish practices.

In a now-viral video, his mother firmly denied the claims, stressing that her son was a devout Muslim who never engaged in such acts.

“Many Alfas gave him several soaps to be using, but he asked me to only keep praying for him and not do anything spiritual on his behalf. He said my prayers have been helping him,” she said.

Recounting his last moments with her, she explained that Sanku had urged her to spend some time with him before returning to work. “It hasn’t even been up to one month. Sanku was a good child. He told me not to worry and assured me that I would reap the fruits of my labour. He promised that he and his siblings would become great people,” she added.

The grieving mother further recalled his humble beginnings, noting that he once hawked peppers with her before venturing fully into comedy.

“My son did not do money rituals. I heard what people are saying, but my son is not like that. He was devoted to his faith, always telling me to pray and never went to any herbalist,” she said.

Her clarification comes amid widespread tributes from fans and colleagues mourning the sudden loss of the young entertainer.
