Regina Daniels reveals new details on marital crisis

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly denied ever being legally married to her estranged partner, Ned Nwoko, claiming their relationship lacked legal recognition.

In a statement posted on Instagram early today, the actress admitted to using drugs but insisted that her substance use was not the cause of their fallout. She accused Nwoko, a lawmaker, of attempting to isolate her from her loved ones under the guise of concern for her wellbeing.

“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media,” Daniels wrote.

“You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me, no friend, no support, no safe place to turn to. Then when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you because I will have nowhere else to go” she continued.

The actress further alleged that Nwoko seized her phones for weeks and prevented her from contacting her family. According to her, she was often confined to a room and labelled mentally unstable whenever she tried to leave the relationship.

“Every problem we have had started when I no longer wanted you, whether sober or even high. Tell people the truth,” she added.

Daniels’ statement has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many fans expressing shock over her revelations.
