PSG star, Hakimi faces 15 years in prison over rap£ allegations

Achraf Hakimi is set to face trial in a French criminal court over an alleged rape incident that occurred in early 2023.

On Friday, the Nanterre Prosecutor’s Office confirmed it had formally requested that the investigating judge refer the 26-year-old Moroccan international to criminal court.

This follows charges filed on March 3, 2023, when Hakimi was placed under judicial supervision pending further investigations.

The case involves an incident that reportedly took place on February 25, 2023, after a 24-year-old woman told police she had met Hakimi via Instagram in January.

Following weeks of online exchanges, she claims he arranged an Uber to bring her to his home in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris.

At the time, his wife, Spanish-Turkish actress Hiba Abouk, was said to be on holiday in Dubai with their two sons.

The woman alleges that once inside the footballer’s home, Hakimi kissed her without consent, groped her, and then raped her.

She claimed she managed to push him away with her foot, flee the scene, and text a friend to pick her up.

She later reported the incident to police and eventually submitted messages said to reflect her distress.

Hakimi has denied the allegations throughout the investigation, claiming the woman was attempting to extort him.

In December 2023, the alleged victim and Hakimi appeared before an investigating judge, during which both parties restated their claims.

Kylian Mbappé, has called the accusation a “blackmail plot.”

Speaking in a January interview, he said: “When you are successful, you become an easy target. They tried to blackmail me — that’s why we filed a complaint.”

His legal team described the initial complaint as an act of “attempted racketeering.” Hakimi has since filed a
countersuit against his accuser.

If convicted, Hakimi could face up to
15 years in prison, the maximum sentence for non-aggravated rape under French law.
