Pretty Mike, Tuoyo in NDLEA net after Lagos club raid
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, alongside former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, and over 100 other guests during a midnight raid on Proxy Nightclub, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The agency said cartons of banned substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from the club during the operation conducted in the early hours of today, October 26, 2025.
In a statement signed by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the agency said operatives acted on credible intelligence and infiltrated the nightclub around 11 p.m. on Saturday before storming the venue at about 3 a.m. “Over 100 suspects, including the owner of the club, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening,” Babafemi stated.
Reacting to his arrest, Tuoyo Ideh took to Instagram to express displeasure over the incident, saying he was detained “for doing nothing.” According to him, NDLEA officials stormed the club, ordered everyone to lie down, and later took them to the agency’s headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos. “We are over 150 people here; they made us sit down like criminals,” he lamented. Efforts by reporters to reach Pretty Mike for comments proved unsuccessful as of press time.
In another development, NDLEA officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine weighing 3.6 kilograms concealed inside cocoa butter body cream containers bound for London. The cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, was arrested, while follow-up investigations led to the capture of a healthcare worker, Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, and the CEO of a travel agency, Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi.
The anti-narcotics agency also recorded multiple operations across the country. These include the arrest of a Lesotho national at Enugu Airport attempting to smuggle methamphetamine to the Philippines, and seizures of large quantities of tramadol, skunk, and skuchies in Kwara, Taraba, Kogi, Ondo, Nasarawa, and Abia States. In Lagos, a woman identified as Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, said to be a major distributor of high-grade cannabis across Lekki and Ikoyi, was arrested with 500 grams of Loud.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd.), commended the officers for their commitment to the ongoing War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign. He urged NDLEA personnel nationwide to sustain their intelligence-led operations and maintain the agency’s momentum against drug trafficking and abuse across Nigeria.
