Power surge sparks fire at Ogbomoso store, destroys goods worth millions of naira

A late-night fire has destroyed goods worth millions of naira at Radex Variety Store in the Bolanta area of Oja-Igbo, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Friday and was traced to a power surge.
Oyo State Fire Service Chairman, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday, noting that no lives were lost.
“On arrival, we found the store engulfed in flames. Our team quickly brought the fire under control and educated residents on fire prevention. Only one shop in the complex was affected,” Akinwande said.
Fire service officials concluded the operation at 10:50 p.m.
