Portable plans education comeback to boost music career
Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has announced plans to return to school in a bid to gain deeper knowledge of music business and management.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the Zazu crooner revealed that although he already holds an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from Kwara State Polytechnic, he intends to pursue further education to better understand the financial and managerial aspects of his career.
Portable explained that the decision stems from his desire to properly oversee his record label, Zeh Nation, and take control of his music royalties and business deals, rather than relying solely on others for direction.
“Even though I already have an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, I still want to further my education so I can understand my music royalties and business deals better, especially for my record label, Zeh Nation,” he said.
The singer added that the move is not just about obtaining another certificate, but about acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to manage his brand effectively and build a sustainable music empire.
