Police speak on viral ‘wanted notice’ of actress Iyabo Ojo

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has disowned a viral “wanted” poster featuring Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, describing it as fake and misleading.

The poster, which bore her image with the inscription “Special Police Wanted,” circulated on social media earlier this week, generating widespread reactions.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page Thursday, the Police clarified that the notice did not originate from any of its units.

“FAKE NEWS ALERT! This ‘WANTED’ poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading & was never posted on any official NPF platform,” the statement read.

The Force urged Nigerians to stop spreading unverified information and to rely solely on official communication channels for authentic updates.

It also dismissed claims that the actress was wanted by the Office of the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit, stressing that no such directive exists.
