Plateau United goalkeeper, Adewale Adeyinka, has responded to betting allegations levelled against him by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), calling for a fair hearing in the matter, republican.com.ng reports.
The former Kwara United shot-stopper said the accusation has stalled his proposed move to Shooting Stars, despite his repeated attempts to seek clarification from the league body.
“I have been waiting for the LMC to invite me so I can defend myself, but until now, I have heard nothing,” Adeyinka said in an interview.
“I called the secretary of Plateau United to ask if they had written to the LMC to stop any club from registering me.”
REPUBLICAN NIGERIA recalls that the NPFL suspended Adeyinka pending the outcome of its investigation into the betting claims.
