Petr Cech splits from wife after 26 years together

Former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Čech has confirmed his separation from wife Martina after 26 years.

In an emotional Instagram post featuring a black-and-white photo of Martina kissing him, the 43-year-old wrote:

“Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together. We remain best friends and immensely proud of our two children.”

The pair met as teenagers in 1999 and married in 2003.

They have two children — Adela, 17, a Czech Republic U-17 defender, and Damian, 16, who recently signed his first professional goalkeeping contract with Fulham.

Čech’s illustrious career saw him join Chelsea from Rennes in 2004, making 494 appearances and winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, and the 2012 UEFA Champions League. He later moved to Arsenal in 2015, securing another FA Cup before retiring in 2019.

Since retirement, Čech has played ice hockey as a goalkeeper and served as Chelsea’s technical and performance advisor until 2022.
