Peju Ogunmola returns to acting after son’s death

Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has announced her return to the movie scene, months after the tragic loss of her only child, Ayomikun Omobolanle.

Ogunmola, who is married to popular comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe, shared the news on her Instagram page, expressing heartfelt gratitude to her fans, friends, and colleagues for their love, prayers, and unwavering support during her difficult period.

The actress noted that returning to work marks an important step in her healing journey, adding that she is ready to reconnect with her passion for acting and continue making meaningful contributions to the film industry.

It would be recalled that in September 2025, the couple lost their son, Ayomikun, in Ibadan after what the family described as a brief illness, a loss that sent shockwaves through the Nollywood community and left many colleagues in mourning.

Since the incident, Ogunmola has kept a low profile, stepping away from movie sets to grieve privately. Her comeback has been met with excitement from fans and industry colleagues, who have flooded her social media page with messages of encouragement and goodwill.
