Oyo Police rescue kidnapped Egyptian in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has rescued an Egyptian national abducted on Monday in the Alomaja area of Idi-Ayunre, Ibadan.

Police spokesman, CSP Adewale Osifeso, said in a statement on Tuesday that the victim, kidnapped on September 8, was freed the next day without ransom after a joint operation involving Oyo and Ogun commands, police tactical units, and local vigilantes.

He noted that the operation, directed by Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna, relied on swift intelligence analysis and extensive searches across border forests.

The rescued victim is receiving medical care at the Police Hospital, Eleyele, before reuniting with his family.

The command urged residents to stay alert and promptly report suspicious activities, assuring its commitment to public safety across the state.
