Oyo Police arrest school gateman for rap£ of minor

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old school gateman, identified as Josiah Ayomide, over an alleged defilement of a four-year-old pupil of his school in Ibadan

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, while addressing newsmen at the police headquarters, Eleyele in Ibadan, the state capital, said the victim had on August 29, 2025, lodged a complaint of pains in her vagina to her eldest sister.

He explained that the victim later told her mother that her school gateman had unlawfully raped her when she was in school.

Osifeso added that the suspect confessed to the crime after the arrest.

The victim was taken to the Police Medical Clinic Eleyele, Ibadan, for a medical examination and treatment, and the medical report revealed that the hymen was not intact, tenderness around the vulva and vagina, with bruises.

He further stated that the suspect will be prosecuted upon completion of the investigation.
