Oyo Govt bans sign-out celebrations, mobile phones in secondary schools
Gov Makinde
The Oyo State Government has outlawed “sign-out” celebrations for graduating students and banned the use of mobile phones in public and private secondary schools across the state.
Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Segun Olayiwiola, disclosed this at the pre-resumption forum of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Oyo State Chapter.
He praised principals for their efforts in shaping students and maintaining standards, urging them to reinforce discipline and protect school facilities.
In separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Bamidele Oyinloye, and the TESCOM Chairperson, Mrs. Olubukola Oladipupo, described the forum as an opportunity for principals to deepen their knowledge of school administration rather than a routine gathering.
The measures, according to the government, are part of wider reforms to strengthen discipline and improve quality education in the state.
