The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, announced today that he completed the Brussels Half Marathon in Belgium alongside his daughter, Feyi, finishing the race in three hours and two minutes.
The exercise was held on Sunday, November 2 and started at 9 am.
Makinde shared photos of the event on X, showing the father-daughter duo post-race with medals.
The governor described the course as the most challenging he has encountered due to its undulating terrain and uphill sections and further noted that it was about 10 minutes slower than his previous half-marathon time this year.
Makinde wrote, “Pleased to have completed the Brussels Half Marathon earlier today with my daughter, Feyi.
“At three hours and two minutes to get to the finish line, I was about 10 minutes slower than my previous half-marathon this year.
“This is the most challenging course I have ever run as it was undulating with a major part of the course going uphill.” He added.
The Brussels Half Marathon is a 21.1 km (13.1-mile) race that is part of the larger Brussels Airport Marathon and Half Marathon event.
It happens annually in Brussels, Belgium, starting at Place de Brouckère and running through many of the city’s iconic landmarks, such as the Atomium and the Basilica of Koekelberg, with the finish line at Place des Palais.
