Oyo College of Agriculture loses top official
The Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, has announced the death of its Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs, Alhaji Rahman Onike.
The news was confirmed on Friday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Opeyemi Olawore.
According to the statement, Alhaji Onike, a native of Oyo town, became unwell shortly after delivering a lecture on campus on Thursday.
He was promptly taken to a hospital for medical attention but was later pronounced dead.
Onike, described as a dedicated and resourceful administrator, joined the college in 2008 as an Administrative Officer II and rose to the rank of Deputy Registrar.
He was an alumnus of Saint Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo, the University of Ibadan, and Olivet High School.
On behalf of the Rector, Professor Akinola Akinlabi, Olawore extended heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues, students, and the wider college community over the loss.
