Osun students applaud lawmaker for awarding bursaries, others

Honourable Barrister Kanmi Ajibola, member representing Oriade at the Osun State House of Assembly, has been commended by the Oriade Student Union for awarding bursaries to students and supporting youth empowerment initiatives in the constituency.

The union also appreciated Honourable Ademola Asaju, immediate past chairman of Oriade South LCDA, for his role in ensuring the success of the programme.

In a statement, Comrade Adeniji Boluwaji Temitope, chairman of the planning committee, described the initiative as historic, noting that Ajibola is the first Assembly member from Oriade to extend such financial assistance to students.

He recalled that the student union had earlier requested bursaries, an entrepreneurship summit, and ICT job opportunities from the lawmaker. On Friday, 15th August 2025, two of those demands, bursaries and entrepreneurship training were fulfilled in a single event, marking a major milestone in the history of the local government.

Temitope praised Ajibola for his commitment to education and youth development, while also commending Asaju for his consistent support.

The programme featured both the distribution of bursaries and an entrepreneurship training session, which beneficiaries and student leaders hailed as a landmark achievement for the constituency.
