Osun APC, PDP clash over Adeleke’s comments on Tinubu

The Osun State chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have engaged in a war of words over Governor Ademola Adeleke’s comments at the South-West Stakeholders’ Dialogue in Akure, Ondo State.
The APC accused Adeleke of blaming President Bola Tinubu for alleged marginalisation of Osun State and the withholding of local government funds.
In a statement, APC Media Director Kola Olabisi said the governor has repeatedly held the President responsible for his administration’s shortcomings.
Olabisi highlighted federal interventions in Osun, noting over N10 billion spent on education and health, alongside TETFUND and UBEC projects. He also criticised state spending, citing high university tuition fees and procurement of luxury vehicles for politicians.
The PDP, however, dismissed the APC’s claims as false.
Osun PDP Media Director Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji said Adeleke’s speech focused on intergovernmental relations and constitutional issues, not a personal attack on the President. The party stressed that Adeleke respects Tinubu and that his remarks were intended to strengthen federal-state cooperation.
At the summit, Adeleke represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi called for fair treatment of sub-national governments, urging collaboration across party lines to promote development and democratic governance in the South-West.
