Osimhen, Salah, Anguissa lead CAF awards 2025 nominees

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for the 2025 CAF Awards, honouring the continent’s best performers among players, coaches, clubs, and national teams.
According to a statement released on Monday via the CAF website, the shortlist was compiled by a panel comprising members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee, experienced coaches, CAF legends, and selected media representatives.
The awards recognised achievements between January 6 and October 15, 2025, highlighting individuals and teams that have made significant impacts in African and global football.
Cameroon’s Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah headline the list after stellar seasons with Napoli and Liverpool, respectively. Other notable names include DR Congo’s Fiston Mayele (Pyramids FC), Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray), Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain), and Senegal’s Iliman Ndiaye (Everton).

The CAF Awards celebrate excellence across African football and will culminate in a gala where winners in all categories will be unveiled.
