Oluwo finally speaks on ‘smoking marijuana’
Oluwo of Iwo
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has strongly dismissed allegations that he smokes marijuana, calling them false and issuing curses on those spreading the claims.
In a viral video at a public gathering, the monarch said the accusations were fabricated by “unfortunate” individuals and warned that divine punishment awaited them.
He declared that if he were guilty of smoking marijuana, God should remove him from the throne.
“They are lying against me. They are unfortunate people. Unless I am smoking marijuana, if I’m a smoker, God should remove me from this throne. You who are accusing me of being a smoker, God will punish you,” he said.
The statement comes shortly after the Court of Appeal upheld his enthronement as the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, a ruling Oba Akanbi celebrated as a divine victory.
Following the ruling, he reiterated that his reign is ordained by God and committed to defending Iwo’s cultural heritage while modernizing traditions.
Oba Akanbi also criticized his legal challengers, calling their efforts wasteful and saying their actions only strengthened his position on the throne.
