Popular celebrity auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better known as IVD, was reportedly arrested on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while attempting to travel to Qatar.
Sources revealed that officials from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions apprehended IVD as he was set to board a flight, allegedly en route to his wedding with controversial relationship expert, Blessing CEO.
His arrest is believed to be connected to the ongoing legal proceedings regarding the death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, who died in October 2022 following a domestic incident that led to a fire at their home in Lagos.
Media personality Stella Dimoko-Korkus confirmed the arrest in a social media post, stating that the domestic violence case against IVD remains active and that he is currently under legal restrictions prohibiting him from leaving the country.
Reacting to the news, Blessing CEO took to Instagram to condemn the arrest, describing it as “illegal” and accusing the authorities of “political and emotional manipulation.” She further claimed ethnic discrimination, writing, “This is a tribal war that has nothing to do with justice. What are you charging IVD for? No case file or statement.”
As of press time, officials have not released an official statement regarding the arrest.
