Nwabali doubtful for Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali could miss Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa after picking up an injury.
The Chippa United shot-stopper was stretchered off in the 35th minute of his club’s PSL clash with Richards Bay on Tuesday night.
Nwabali, 29, was included in Nigeria’s 31-man provisional squad for the September fixtures, but now faces a race against time to be fit.
If he is unavailable, Eric Chelle will rely on Adebayo Adeleye, Amas Obasogie, or Ebenezer Harcourt, the other goalkeepers in the squad.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to play Rwanda on September 6 before hosting South Africa on September 10.
