‘Not Ademola Adeleke’ – Ex-Police Affairs Minister reveals ‘real Governor of Osun’
Former Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, has alleged that billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke, father of popular musician Davido, is the real power behind the government of Osun State, rather than Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Adesiyan made the claim during an interview on state affairs with Edmund Obilo, where he described Deji Adeleke as the “real governor” of the state.
According to him, Deji Adeleke exercises significant control over political decisions in Osun, questioning the authority of the sitting governor.
“Deji Adeleke is the governor. Who is Ademola Adeleke? Can that one become governor? Deji is the one in charge,” he said.
The former minister further claimed that Deji Adeleke has long played a dominant role in Osun politics, including during the administration of his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
“I served under his brother when he was in government. I knew the influence Deji wielded over his senior brother,” Adesiyan stated.
He described Deji Adeleke as a powerful businessman whose influence, he alleged, runs deep within the political structure of Osun State. Governor Ademola Adeleke and Deji Adeleke have not reacted to the claims as of the time of filing this report.
