Nollywood actor Duro Michael passes away
Nollywood actor Duro Michael has passed away after a prolonged battle with ill health.
He died on Tuesday, with the news confirmed on Thursday by filmmaker Stanleyontop.
Michael had been away from the movie industry for several years following health complications that eventually led to the amputation of one of his legs.
Despite his struggles, he publicly appealed for support with medical care and a prosthetic limb, while also urging producers in 2024 to keep casting him in roles.
In 2022, he received a ₦5 million donation from Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin to aid his treatment, but his condition continued to worsen.
The late actor was known for his roles in Nollywood classics such as Midnight Love (2003) and The Guilty (2006). His passing marks another loss for the Nigerian film industry, where he made notable contributions before illness forced him into the background.
