The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Retail Limited has terminated the employment of a pump attendant caught on video attempting to defraud a customer at its Ikorodu filling station in Lagos.
In a statement released on Friday, the company confirmed that a thorough investigation identified the incident as having occurred at its Ikorodu outlet. NNPC Retail emphasized that such behaviour is unacceptable and contradicts its core values of integrity, transparency, and exceptional customer service.
As part of the disciplinary actions, the pump attendant involved was dismissed, the station manager suspended, and a formal warning issued to the station dealer in accordance with the company’s sanction grid.
NNPC Retail also thanked members of the public for their vigilance and urged customers to report any misconduct through the customer service contacts displayed at all its stations for prompt response.
“The company assures all customers of its continued strict enforcement of compliance with its operational standards across its network of filling stations,” the statement concluded.
