Nigerian polytechnic sacks Deputy Rector
The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, Benue State, has dismissed its Deputy Rector, Dr. Ngurumun Doris Iorchir, over allegations of misconduct.
According to a letter dated August 18, 2025, and signed by the Registrar and Council Secretary, Dr. Muhammed Ndaeji, Dr. Iorchir was accused of insubordination, unauthorised disclosure of official information, refusal to appear before the disciplinary committee, and failure to provide vital documents from her former employers after two years on probation.
The dismissal followed recommendations from the Management Disciplinary Committee, which reviewed a series of disputes between the Deputy Rector and the school authorities.
Dr. Iorchir had earlier petitioned the Rector, Dr. Ashinya Tyover, accusing him of financial impropriety.
In subsequent petitions, she also alleged that the Rector, Governing Council members, and others were sponsors of terrorism.
The Governing Council, after deliberation, approved her immediate dismissal in line with the Public Service Rules, directing her to hand over all institutional property to the Chief Security Officer without delay.
