Nigerian Police: Adejobi bows out as new Force PRO emerges
The Nigeria Police Force has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as its new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
The appointment follows the redeployment of former spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and posted to the Delta State Police Command as Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations.
Hundeyin, until now, served as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Lagos State Command, where he became widely known for his active engagement with the media and the public.
His posting to the Force Headquarters in Abuja marks a return to familiar terrain, as he had previously served at the national level as Deputy FPRO.
Police authorities, while confirming the development, explained that the change was part of routine administrative adjustments designed to enhance career progression and manpower optimisation within the Force. They also emphasised that the decision was neither punitive nor controversial, but in line with the operational needs of the institution.
CSP Hundeyin is regarded as a seasoned communicator with years of experience in public relations and security management.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
His appointment is expected to sustain and strengthen the Police Force’s relationship with the media and the public, while also projecting the reforms and operational priorities of the Inspector-General of Police.
