Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his leadership style and recent developmental strides.

In a video obtained by Republican Nigeria, Portable praised Tinubu for what he described as silent but effective governance, stating that the President is delivering on his promises despite online criticism.

“Since I was born, people have always said ‘Nigeria will get better.’ But it’s under Tinubu that Nigeria is actually getting better. Tinubu is the best president,” Portable said.

The singer emphasized that the country is on a path of improvement under Tinubu’s administration, urging Nigerians not to be swayed by negative narratives. “Tinubu’s time is the best. Don’t let anyone deceive you. Tinubu is doing what he promised. Things are getting better. We are behind Tinubu 100%,” he added.

Portable also took a swipe at critics who, according to him, insult the President while benefiting from his government. “People insult Tinubu online, yet they still benefit from what he’s doing. But Tinubu doesn’t respond — he works in silence. Real work, not noise,” he said.

His remarks follow the recent announcement of a $1.1 billion loan secured by the Tinubu administration from the African Development Bank, aimed at expanding electricity access to 5 million Nigerians by 2026 — a move seen as part of ongoing efforts to boost national infrastructure.
