NBBF announces kick-off date for 2025 Men’s Basketball Premier League

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has officially scheduled August 9, 2025, as the commencement date for the Men’s Basketball Premier League, republican.com.ng reports.
In a letter addressed to State Ministries of Youth and Sports Commissions and signed by League Chairman Babatunde Ogunade and NBBF Secretary Amina O. Amanchi, the Federation revealed that the league will unfold in four stages: Group Stage, Inter-Group, Playoffs, and Final Four. Host venues for each stage will be announced in due course.
The 16 participating teams have been grouped into four, under two main conferences—Savannah and Atlantic:
Savannah Conference
Group A: Nile University, Nigeria Customs, Gboko Chiefs, Correctional
Group B: Kano Pillars, Plateau Peaks, Gombe Bulls, Bauchi Nets
Atlantic Conference
Group A: Comets, Police Barton, Lagos Legends, Hoops & Reeds
Group B: Rivers Hoopers, Delta Force, Oluyole Warriors, Kwara Falcons
The NBBF reiterated its commitment to ensuring a well-structured and competitive season aimed at promoting basketball excellence nationwide.
