NAF debunks fake recruitment advertisements, warns public against scammers
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has warned the public to disregard fraudulent social media messages claiming that it has commenced recruitment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), REPUBLICAN NIGERIA reports.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF clarified that no such recruitment exercise is currently underway.
“The attention of the Nigerian Air Force has been drawn to fraudulent messages circulating online, falsely claiming that the NAF has commenced recruitment,” the statement read. “We wish to state categorically that no such recruitment exercise is ongoing.”
The Air Force urged Nigerians to be cautious and avoid falling victim to online scams, emphasizing that all its recruitment processes are free, transparent, and strictly merit-based.
“The NAF does not charge any fee at any stage of its recruitment exercise and does not engage third parties or agents for enlistment,” Ejodame added.
He noted that any legitimate recruitment exercise would be officially announced through national newspapers, the NAF’s official website, and its verified social media handles.
The statement also encouraged the public to rely solely on official NAF communication channels for accurate and up-to-date information.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to integrity, transparency, and efficient service delivery while projecting air power to defend the nation and safeguard lives and property,” it concluded.
