TRENDING: My wife and I haven’t argued in our 17 years of marriage – David Oyedepo Jnr
David Oyedepo Jnr, son of Bishop David Oyedepo and resident pastor at Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), has revealed that he and his wife, Kemi, have spent 17 years in marriage without a single argument.
Speaking during a recent church service, a clip of which was shared on YouTube, Oyedepo Jnr said their marital harmony is a result of a deliberate, Bible-based decision they made before getting married in 2008.
He dismissed the widespread belief that disagreements are inevitable in marriage, describing it as “a lie from the devil.”
“Years ago, I heard a man preaching from 1 Corinthians about marriage, saying, ‘he that marries will have troubles in the flesh,’” he recalled.
“At the time, I was still in courtship. I thought to myself, ‘Nobody goes looking for trouble.’ So after the message, I went back to the Bible to study the context for myself. If you are not enlightened, you will end up damaged. Deception is simply corrupting the truth.”
Oyedepo Jnr said this personal conviction shaped his marriage.
“You know, there are people who would tell you, ‘You must fight in marriage.’ It is a lie from hell. I began telling my wife during our courtship that we would never have an argument. Our wedding anniversary was in July; in our 17 years of marriage, we have not had one argument. Not a single day of raising our voices at each other.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2008, continue to emphasize biblical principles as the foundation of their relationship.
