The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as “MC Oluomo” has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, to grant forgiveness to Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, over allegations of violating aviation regulations during a ValueJet flight.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) reported that Kwam 1 brought alcohol onboard Flight VK 201 from Abuja to Lagos, a breach of domestic flight policies, which sparked a disagreement with a flight attendant.

Consequently, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), with the backing of Minister Keyamo, imposed a six-month suspension banning Kwam 1 and pilot Oluranti Ogoyi from flying while investigations continue.

In a heartfelt Instagram message, MC Oluomo called for compassion, highlighting Kwam 1’s acknowledgment of his mistake and sincere apology.

He urged the NCAA and Ministry of Aviation to consider lifting the ban, citing Kwam 1’s five decades of service to Nigeria’s cultural heritage and his role in promoting Yoruba culture internationally.

MC Oluomo also extended apologies on behalf of Kwam 1 to the CEO of ValueJet, Mr. Kunle Soname, airline staff, and the public, emphasizing the need to balance justice with mercy.
