The Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, has commiserated with gospel artiste and media entrepreneur, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, following the fire outbreak that gutted parts of his radio station, Fresh FM 105.9, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
This is following Governor Makinde’s visit to the station where he consoled the management over the disaster.
In his own message, in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Strategic Communications and Media Relations, Mr. Bolaji Tunji, Adelabu described the incident as “sad and unfortunate,” expressing concern over the devastation caused by the inferno.
The minister noted that Fresh FM has grown into a pillar of quality broadcasting, entertainment, and public enlightenment in Oyo State and across Nigeria.
“I extend my heartfelt sympathies to Dr. Ayefele, the management and staff of Fresh FM, as well as the people of Oyo State, over this unfortunate incident,” Adelabu said. “As Minister of Power and a keen listener of the station, I urge stakeholders to prioritize regular inspections of power infrastructure and adhere to safety standards to minimise fire risks.”
He praised the swift response of the Oyo State Fire Service, first responders, and supportive neighbours who worked to contain the blaze, stressing that their efforts reflect the value of preparedness and community spirit.
Adelabu assured Ayefele and the Fresh FM family of his solidarity during this challenging time.
