The Nasarawa State government has begun renovation works at Lafia City Stadium to prepare it for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, inspected the facility on Monday and confirmed that repairs on the pitch, seating, perimeter fencing, dressing rooms, and lighting systems had already commenced.
He noted that Governor Abdullahi Sule approved the upgrades to ensure Nasarawa United can host its home matches in Lafia.
Floodlights are also being installed to meet NPFL standards.
Nasarawa United will open their campaign away to Niger Tornadoes on August 24 before playing their first home game against Abia Warriors on August 31.
