K1 De Ultimate, Comfort Emmanson
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has condemned what he calls “double standards” in the handling of the case involving Miss Comfort Emmanson, who allegedly assaulted an Ibom Air crew member.
In a statement posted on X, Obi apologized to the airline crew but criticized the “dehumanising” treatment of Emmanson, who was reportedly stripped in public before being taken to court and remanded in custody.
Obi condemned the swift prosecution of Emmanson, contrasting it with the apparent lack of action against another individual who disrupted a flight and endangered passengers’ lives but has not been arrested or arraigned.
“This case is not just about one young woman, it is about the double standards that poison our justice system,” Obi said.
He emphasized that justice in Nigeria should not depend on wealth, influence, or connections to government officials.
He called on authorities, including the Minister of Aviation, to explain the disparity in treatment and stressed that justice must be fair and equal for all citizens, regardless of status.
REPUBLICAN NIGERIA recalls that Nigerian musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known as K1 De Ultimate, was denied boarding a ValueJet flight at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Tuesday for allegedly violating aviation security regulations.
However, K1 De Ultimate has not been arrested or prosecuted.
