The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a fresh power outage affecting several parts of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.

In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, AEDC attributed the blackout to a technical fault, assuring residents that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issue.

“We regret to inform you that the power outage affecting your area is due to a technical fault,” the notice read.

Areas impacted by the outage include Amazon Street, Lephalala Street, Ganges Street, Panama Street, parts of Danube Street, and Osun Crescent. Others are Rhine Street, Urban Shelter Katampe, Living Faith Church Katampe, Jahi Village, Katampe Extension, and the Jahi by Gilmore axis.

As of the time of filing this report, AEDC has not provided a timeline for the restoration of electricity to the affected communities.
