Another round of flooding has hit Adamawa State, this time devastating Dugwaba District in Hong Local Government Area following heavy rainfall on Wednesday, republican.com.ng reports.

The incident comes just days after severe floods swept through parts of Yola, the state capital, claiming 29 lives, according to figures released by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta on August 5, 2025.

In Dugwaba, the latest flooding was triggered by prolonged downpour, leaving widespread destruction in its wake. Entire communities were submerged, farmlands washed away, and key access roads linking Dugwaba to nearby settlements, including Yadul District, Garaha, and Mojili, rendered impassable.

Local sources reported that the floodwater cut off residents from essential services and neighboring areas, prompting an urgent appeal from the District Head of Dugwaba, Simon Buba Yakubu.

He called for immediate government intervention to support affected families and restore access to the isolated communities.

As of Wednesday evening, no fatalities had been reported, but assessments of the full extent of the damage are still ongoing.
