INEC receives sensitive materials for Ibadan North Bye-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has taken delivery of sensitive electoral materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ahead of Saturday’s by-election in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Adeniran Tella, confirmed the receipt of ballot papers, result sheets, and series forms 8A, 8B, 8C, and 8D. He noted that the declaration sheet for the election arrived directly from INEC’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Tella, the materials will be transported under escort to local government offices for onward distribution to registration areas.
He said preparations were at an advanced stage, with work centres activated and arrangements made with the transport union for smooth logistics.
The REC also assured of adequate security, citing collaboration with members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), who have developed strategies to prevent violence.
He pledged a credible and incident-free exercise.
